Further update:

I had the resonator changed to a quieter type [Solo brand].
It helped to cut the noise down a fair bit,but I still get the boom.
I think I'm going to look into better mufflers.
The glasspack style mufflers aint making it.

Not quite sure what you are looking for but dYnomax ultra flow is pretty good. The Dynomax Super Turbo is a quiet exhaust.

Something fairly quiet with a little bit of a burble....really just a *hair* noisier than the stock exhaust.
I do appreciate the heads up.
I just wish I'd known before this whole debacle started.
I will get it sorted out though.

i had those on my old gtp. didn't like them

i 'd suggest a nice glasspack where the res should be and straight pipes if you want loudness

Sounds nice in the video, but in my car the thing BOOMS at part throttle.
It's like sitting in a car with a subwoofer playing one note at a good volume.
z3ro: thnks for those links,but I need a muffler that's 14" long.
Jeff from Solo said the Quatum 3 should be good without much drone and a bit of deep, soft bass note.
We'll see.
Maybe they'll design a new muffler for me.

The new Solo mufflers are on [Quantum 3's].
I like them much better.
Deeper exhaust tone with a lot less boom.
I did find an interesting write up on the science of muffler design.

To find the fequency coming out the tailpipe, use this formula:

F= [ Engine RPM X the number of cylinders ] / 120

In our case it's just:

RPM / 20 .

Kind of cool.
Let's see if I can attach the original PDF:

I'm not sure.
It *might be* , but I think there's a difference between the systems for the two cars.
Ours is a sportier tone with smaller mufflers,IIRC.
That's where the fun begins.

I have the dynomax super turbo and am extremely happy with this system. It is quiet at idle and cruise, and then when you lay into the throttle, its just mean as hell. Sounds like a small displacement v8 IMO.
