Cant' say for certain, but the description of the PCM sounds like the old DHP PCM's.

The DHP PCM's were more aggressive than the 1.5 file. The 1.5 was a starter file. The PCM was a complete tune.

The DHP was the best canned tune that i used. With an intake exhaust and a smaller pulley i was able to run a 13.7 on street tires, full weight, and no track prep.

No, that was discussed many times on the DHP forum with new people buying the PowrTuner. I know because I asked when I first uploaded the unedited 1.5 bin file to my PCM. I was told that it was just a starter file and that it was up to me to fine tune to my car.

I cant vouch for the pcm, but I can say Ive dealt with 3800 performance before and theyre good people. I CAN however vouch for the Overkill PCM and Will's tune. Awesome addition to my ride.

3800 Performance is legit, I know a lot of people who have dealt with them and have had nothing but good things to say

I originally bought an intense tune once the dhp tuner we had in our group essentially bricked my pcm. Personally I would recommend an overkill or zzp tune until you find someone in your area who can tune the 3800 to fit your setup better. Once we got the hp tuner in our group I found some things with the way intense programmed the timing and commanded air fuel that made me a little "peeved"

The Intense tune was well known for popping pistons.

Well, the way they modified my timing they had me running at 22 degrees at wide open with a commanded air fuel of 10... Figured out why I kept getting 6 degrees of knock very quickly.

Keep in mind I only asked for a 2 degree bump from stock.

The Intense tune was well known for popping pistons.

And the DHP tuner is know for bricking PCM's. DHP uses a method I like to call icing on the cake. They just overlay the edits on top of the original gm files. DHP uses the same OSID for every single PCM hence why you can tune mutiples also hence why it bricks PCM's. I had to manually rewrite my whole PCM while using HPT because DHP had changed my OSID to an 8 digit number then out of the blue the pcm finally said what the hell is this and wouldn't allow the car to start. So because of the issues I've had with DHP I will never use one or tell people they have a good product.

HPT for the win if you want to learn how to tune. If you want an off the shelf tune I'd get a hold of will at overkill.

funny the HPtuner i had bricked the factory PCM from the white 01 GT i had but the old DHP tuner tuner worked perfectly fine on every car i used it with 2000 grand am, 03 silhouette, 2000 Grand Prix GTX, 1999 Grand Prix GTP, and my uncles malibu.

HPT COULD NOT EVEN READ an olds silhouette pcm!!! (this was back in early 2010 may be changed now) but yet it can read and tune a venture, montana, transport, uplander, SV6, aztek, roundevue(sp), and what ever the buick mini van was that replaced the olds silhouette. all of those are U-body vans but yet the olds is the black sheep of the bunch. explain that seeing as they use the same PCM part number and same tune files
