Whent to start my '05 GP [N/A, cone intake, SLP cat back, everything else is oem] and the car starts and dies, this has happened a handful of times before so when its cold [its 31F when i whent to drive it] so i kick it over and go to leave... but the motor dies. i tried it a few more times with variations of gas pedel and i could huggle it between 500 and 1500 rpms with the right throttle application but it just wont hold an idle. if i unplug the maf it idles for 2-3 seconds and dies. im uploading a video of the dash and what happens when it dies. its very abrupt and doesnt sound like it normally does when i shut it down.

I have tried cleaning the maf, and running with it disconnected, and there was no change... ive been wracking my brains and searching the web since saturday [when this started] and cant find anything. So if anyone has any ideas of things to look at or test im all ears. I'm so not cut out for this whole taking the bus at 6am thing lol

The audio is out of sync for some reason on this second video, but the main thing is it sounds like it backfires through the intake at one point... but im still at a loss as to what is causing this.

How exactly did you "tune out" the P0420 code?

That's not the answer I was looking for.
Did you change A/F ratios, timing etc. or did you tell the computer to ignore the secondary O2?

ahh

I turned the code off, the secondary o2 still reads, but it doesnt throw a code [kept getting 0420 code and tuning it out was cheaper then a new one]
a/f's were adjusted a little bit, but nothing below 2k

That being said, my first thought was something got jacked up in the tune, since it was the first sub freezing day i had tried to start it since the tune [which i did back in aug/sept] but ive since tried to start it in warmer weather and its still the same thing. and its run like a champ for 5kish miles since the tune. other then i need new pads and rotors ive noticed nothing from the engine, other then it pulls MUCH better.

Pulled the TB/IACV/EGR/PCV and cleaned everything out this afternoon, and still no change.

moving on im looking at

Fuel pressure regulator
Coil
injector
CPS
Timing chain

the first three im gonna go ahead check and replace as neeeded since there pretty cheap [i get OEM parts at cost]

the latter i cant do at my apartment complex so i would have to get it towed to my parents and then do the work, which is less then ideal, but not as horrific as a trip to the stealership.

sigh, i guess the car had to give me problems at somepoint lol
